On the 20th December 2023 members and their partners along with special guestAs attended the Torquay Hotel to enjoy a delicious two course lunch and carols from the Singing Group members. In attendance was the Surf Coast Mayor, Liz Pattison who addressed the group and thanked us for the work that we do in the community and assured the continuing support of the Council. She was accompanied by Councillor Rose Hodge who has been a long time supporter of the Shed. The regional officer for the VMSA, Jim Kane made the trip down from Melbourne and spoke to the gathering giving an update on what has been happening around the sheds in the State and what is proposed for the future as far as the VMSA is concerned. Our annual Max Award presentation for 2023 was made to Paul Ryan for his work with the Surf Coast Secondary College students as well as other work that assisted with the running of the woodwork area. As usual the MC for the day, Vice President, Tim Robinson provided the light entertainment for the attendees who also enjoyed the music provided by the Shed Singing Group. Overall it was a very successful day.
