Last Thursday afternoon we had the honor and privilege of Her Excellency Professor the Honorable Margaret Gardner AC making a visit to our shed as part of her tour of the Surf Coast Shire. She was accompanied by the Mayor Libby Stapleton and they met with and conversed with members, did a quick tour of our facilities and then joined in with our Singers and band in a rousing rendition of " I am Australian". After trialing having the Shed open on a Saturday morning during the months of January and February 2026 the response was somewhat underwhelming so it has been decided by the committee that we will revert to opening on a Tuesday and Wednesday morning only. We gave opening on other days a shot firstly on a Thursday and then a Saturday morning but it looks like there is not sufficient demand to open on any other days.

Once again the Torquay Hotel provided the venue and we enjoyed the company of our local politicians and the Shire Mayor. The food was good and the entertainment was provided by our own Singing Group who emphasized the Xmas spirit with some well known carols and popular songs. Our Vice President, Tim Robinson was the master of ceremonies and did a great job in the absence of our President Trevor Sawyer who was unable to make it at the last minute due to unforeseen circumstances.
